Lazy Days

Is anyone else feeling like they never leave the house?
Are these lazy days or what?
With the cold weather and all the diseases going around, I don't even care to change out of my P.J.'s or leave the house!

Movie Review...

For lack of anything better to post...

I definitely liked this movie. I don't get out much to see movies in the theater, but was lucky enough to go on Presidents day. I'd say it's a chick flick, but come to think of it, we had two male workers at movie tell us they liked it! Super cute movie. I liked it because it's real... you'll know what I mean if you see it.

Day in the city

We spent a fun day walking around Down Town with Gina and Brad taking pictures.
We rented a lens and are now wishing it was ours! =)

Menu Planner

I am always making my grocery list on one paper, and on a post it, recording what meals are planned for the week.

I was so excited when I saw this:

It's a menu planner on one side, and shopping list on the other. The best part, it's perforated down the center for easy separation!

What's on?

Considering politics just got REAL boring, the end to the writers strike couldn't have come at a better time... That is to say if it actually ends tonight. (here's to hoping) I was starting to worry about Americas greatest past time, watching TV, and then I came upon this little bit of uplifting info on Yahoo!

YAHOO!

What a treat, 11 unexpected episodes.  It's just a shame that Prison Break ends next Monday and can't go on until April.  

The TV industry really Schruted it. (Office withdrawals) 

Hopefully they have seen the error of their ways and won't put us through this ever again.

a night at the movies

Whether you rent the first movie you ever saw together or create the perfect date with movie passes and a certificate to your favorite bistro, here's a terrific way to set the stage and get the show on the road. 

6 cups popped (unbuttered popcorn)

1 theater-style popcorn bucket

1 cup candy conversation hearts

2 or 3 small boxes favorite movie munching candy

movie passes, rented video, and/or special certificates

cellophane for wrapping

red ribbon

Serves 2 nicely

Pour the popcorn into the bucket. Add the conversation hearts, and toss into the popcorn. Arrange the boxes of candy and the movie passes, video, or any certificates in the popcorn. Wrap in cellophane and tie with ribbon.

Fun Valentine Idea #2

morning eggs in heart frames

This is one of those kid-can-do recipes that every child enjoys making for breakfast at one time or another. If it's your child's turn to be the morning sous chef at your house, he or she can choose a heart-shaped or any large cookie of muffin cutter. (PS: If you're concerned about stove-top cooking, it's fine to keep the burner on low. The egg will take a little longer to cook and turn our a little harder, but that's okay.)

1 heart-shaped cookie cutter,

3 1/2 by 3 inches

1 slice bread

2 to 4 teaspoons butter, divided

1 egg

Makes 1 serving

Using the cookie cutter, cut a heart shaped hole in the center of the bread. In a small frying pan, over medium heat, melt 1 to 2 teaspoons of the butter. Add the bread and break the egg into the hole. (It's okay if the yolk breaks.) Cook until the bread is golden brown on the bottom. You can use a spatula to peek under the bread.

Using the spatula, turn the bread and egg over. Add the remaining butter to the pan. Gently lift the bread to make sure the butter gets under the toast, and fry the toast until the egg is done to your liking.

Language of Flowers

I found this book that I've had forever and never look at. Last night I was flipping through it for fun ideas to keep us entertained through the end of these last winter months.
I've searched and can't find the exact book that I have. It's similar to these, but mine is called:
Holiday Treats *a year-round celebrations book*
It has Halloween Treats, Christmastime Treats, Jewish Holiday Treats, Valentine Treats, Easter Treats, Summertime Treats, and Birthday Treats. It also has fun crafts and projects for all of the above. If you like books with fun treats and projects to do with kids, you should get them.

I thought this was a clever idea:

Oh Baby

What an exciting time. Just around the corner our family will have another angel. I am so excited and nervous for this. I can handle one. In fact, while I'm sure I'll adjust fine, a part of me is sad that my "alone" time with Tate is coming to an end. He's been my little side kick for 2 1/2 years. Like I said before I had him... "I'm glad I just have no idea what I am in for!" It's easier that way for me - To take it day by day with no expectations. That way I don't stress myself out. I'm sure Tate has no idea what's about to happen in his little world either. The other night he was lying in bed with me and said "Why can't Ella come now?" I said when she is ready she'll come. "No, I want her now." He was so sweet and sincere. We'll see what he says once she's really here... I'm sure he'll come up with some good ones! =)

So now they are not, and that's ok!
