Crib Bedding

I wasn't going to make anything this time around,
but now that it's getting close I gave in...

!(FIVE 1/2 MORE WEEKS)!
Her room just wasn't the way I wanted it. I tried to not let it bother me, and most of the time it worked. Lets just say that when I get an idea in my head it won't leave until it's done, or has been tried. I am far from a seamstress, so don't look too close... but here it is. Thanks Mom for your guiding help. I could never do any of the projects I take on if you weren't there to instruct me!

President Hinckley

I've been meaning to do this post, but every time I think of it I put it off. The reason is because while I want to share my love for President Hinckley, I become overwhelmed in search for the right words.

"...firm as the mountains around us, I see so many good people everywhere—and there’s so much of good in them. The world is good. Wonderful things are happening in this world. This is the greatest age in the history of the earth. Be believing. Be happy. Don’t get discouraged. Things will work out.”

This is how I will remember President Hinckley: Happy, optimistic, loving, sincere, an example to all.

And of course... I'll never forget the cane he used more to point and wave than to actually walk!
I love to look at President Hinckley because I think he radiates. The spirit is with him, and it shows.
While he will be grately missed. I can't help but be happy for him now that he is reunited with his dear wife.
I love this church, and I love this man.

Drilling

What is it with boys and their tools?
Anytime Cole pulls out his tool box, Tate is right there to help.
He has a duplicate "toy tool" for most of the ones his dad has.
This is to prevent injury and a heart broken Cole if something were to happen to a tool!

So Small

Last night my Sister in Law told me about this song by Carrie Underwood.
I have heard it on the radio,
but watching the music video really hits home.
I love the message that it sends,
so I wanted to share it with all of you.
Sometimes it's nice to be reminded of how special our loved ones are in our lives.
Love/Family/Friends is not something to be taken for granted that's for sure,
and most of the things we get mad about aren't really worth it... Anyways, watch it, it's good!
Thanks Ash for telling me about it!

Happy Anniversary

I had 50+ pictures to recap the last five years. I decided not to do a slide show and just highlight a couple pictures.

So
here's to Five GREAT years...

This is the only picture I had on my computer of us in High School.
Cole and I have been best friends for a LONG time.

The big proposal...
First you have to know that he had the ring for almost 5 months before proposing, followed by another 3 month engagement. (Part of trying to prolong his "5 year plan" - Which did not happen!)
I would sneek down into his room and try it on when he didn't know!
He took me on a drive up the canyon with a box the size of a ring in his pocket. He walked me around forever. He even got down on one knee, only to get a rock out of his shoe! He's always been one for sarcasm. He never proposed on that walk. After we went to his house to carve pumpkins...
He hid the ring inside my pumpkin for me to find while carving it. I'll never forget how I felt the ring just as the little neighbor boy came up and wanted to help. Cole kept telling him "not today, come back later." I waited until he was gone and then revealed what I found!

2 & 1/2 years later we had the second best day of our lives!

And now we're having another!

I'm not one for pronouncing my love so I'll just say...
I married the perfect person for me!
Thanks Cole for being everything I could ask for and more.
I love:
How you always are willing to do anything for us.
Your sense of humor.
Watching you be a father to Tate.
You remind me a lot of my dad - most of the time that is a good thing!
How you are just a little crazy! =)
You keep our lives interesting and fun.

Happy Anniversary

Socks

Think he is in need of gloves?
Don't worry, he now has some.

Am I the only one who feels like snow clothes for kids are a waste of MONEY if you can't get two years out of them?

Ella will look great in blue don't you think! =)

Tag

I've been Tagged!!!
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B: Each player answers the questions about themselves. C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago: I was 15, just about to turn 16 and get my license. The best time of a teenagers life!!! I think I had a crush on Lance at that time. Oh how things change! I also met Cole for the first time. Crazy, we've known each other for a decade! I remember a young woman activity where we made a time capsule. The paper had a list of things, and one ? was who do you think you'll marry. I haven't opened it yet, but I know I wrote Cole.

5 things on my to-do list today: 1. Call and set up Visiting Teaching 2. Call my Dr. I haven't been able to relax since my last apt. 3. Clean up house 4. Take a nap before Cole goes to work (I got up at the crack of dawn) 5. Play

Snacks I enjoy: Fruit smoothies, fruit snacks, crackers, anything with fruit. (Can you tell I have cravings!)

I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: oh, I don't know! I've played the "What I would do if I won a million dollars" game. I've never even thought of a billion! I would get a house, and Cole would get a garage the size of the house I want! With a few fun cars to go in it I'm sure! But that's Coles thing and not mine, so I would get some things that I like to keep it equal. How much do I have left? I don't even know!...

3 of my bad habits: 1. Putting off calling my V.T. 2. Not being as outgoing as I should be. 3. Eating junk... I just like it so much!

5 places I have lived: Orem: 5 places in Orem, but only Orem!

5 jobs that I have had: All Cooped Up Designs, Cold Stone and Gap all at the same time. Gap went first, followed by Cold Stone. Dental Assistant. Cleaning Offices

5 Things people don't know about me: 1. I like to make lists of things and cross them off as I do them 2. I like to be ready for things/organized. I tend to get bored before leaving on a trip because I have everything done too early 3. I have a 3rd nipple, and Cole loves it! 4. I love to eat a good breakfast 5. I HATE to iron clothes! (Oh, and I better not forget to tell you that I don't really have a 3rd nipple!) =)

I am tagging...
1. Cathy
2. Lisa
3. Jill

and I'm changing the rules for myself and only tagging three people!

Utah International Auto Expo

It's been a while since I posted, so I thought I'd mix it up and add some guy stuff to this blog.
Yaaa!
(Say that with a little attitude, that's how I meant it.)

Tonight we went to the car show. We met Brad and Gina for Dinner and then we went to see the cars. Talk about a great time, food and cars.
Yaaa! (say it like above)

In my opinion it was another disappointing show though... as far as the cars were concerned that is.
My favorite car from this show was probably this Camero and I hesitate to say favorite because the only way it would be cool is if you put one of Chevy's big duramax diesels in it.

I imagine all of that torque would make for a fun ride. Plus, I would take that over the Corvette any day.

If you know me you probably think I spent most of my time at the Mercedes exhibit, and guess what?

wait for it,

wait for it,

they didn't even freaking show up.

Not a single Mercedes at the whole show.
Needless to say I was disappointed. I wanted to ask for my money back (or at least half of it) but I got a Motor Trend subscription with my ticket purchase so I guess I can read all about the Mercedes and Smart cars, that I didn't see, in the magazine. I didn't even want to see anything exotic this year, like the 600's or AMG's or even the SLR. I just wanted to see a Smart car (I really wish I had the extra money to waste on one.) It wouldn't even be a waste. It's just not exactly the greatest family car. Since I didn't get to see it I thought I'd post a picture for us all to enjoy.

There's just something cool about about being able to pull straight into a parallel parking spot and getting 45 miles per gallon at the same time. BD says the diesel will get much better gas mileage, maybe he would be kind enough to share in the comments below. (I'm sure all the people that read this will appreciate that info BD) Let's hope we have the diesel option when I'm ready to buy.

Gina and Brad, we had a great time. We're glad your schedule opened up and you guys could make it. We should plan another night out, so we can come up and ride trax with Tate.
Good Times

Oh ya, the Cowboys SUCK! If they don't win next year, I just don't know...

News

This is Tate's new way to wear a shirt.
I think we're both getting a little "cabin fever" hanging out in the house doing this whole potty training thing.
It does seem to be working this time, so that is good news.
The problem we are having now is he is afraid to go on a toilet without a little potty on the top. He screams and acts like the toilet is going to swallow him up.
Something we are going to have to get over so that doesn't have to happen every time we are out!!

I had a Dr. Apt. today and I set up a date to be induced.
I wasn't going to do this because I thought it might be fun to try to have her on my birthday.
Then I started thinking, I don't REALLY want to go 8 days over!
It would be fun to share a birthday with her, but I've decided that's not going to happen.

Spammed

We have been spammed by cresnet and Cole said some of you have as well. So it might be inconvenient but we turned on word recognition. It's not that big of a deal that they spammed us, more or less just a hassle. Always remember to be smart when posting.:)

First Snowman

I love it when I wake up to tons of unexpected snow!
I couldn't wait to get out and shovel it. Crazy, I know, but I like to see it being cleaned off!

Cole rolling up Tate's first "Frosty"

He was so timid of how deep the snow was. At first he wouldn't walk in it unless he was following in my footprints. It wasn't long before he dared to venture out on his own, but he was always very cautious.

Giving kisses to his snowman.
We are constantly checking to see if "Frosty melted yet?"

My Model

Today I thought I would attempt to make some hair bows.
I don't know if I will dare have her ware them,
but I'm having fun making them - at least I'm having fun today!
Tate is my model.
I just wanted to get an idea for size.
Don't worry, you won't be seeing him like this in public.
Can you tell by his face in the second picture how excited he was to be doing this? =)

Kissing Cousins

Aren't Tate and Olivia cute

Just playing around with the new creative suite. It's alot of fun!

My Nap Time

I tried to lay down to catch up on sleep on a day that Tate wasn't about to take a nap. He would occasionally come into my room to tell me something and then walk out closing the door behind him saying "SHHH!" This doesn't happen very often. For whatever reason if Cole wants to sleep in or rest during the day Tate never bothers him. It's a different story when I try. Cole usually has to take him somewhere if I'm in need of rest, so it was nice to get a little sleep with just the two of us home, even if it was interrupted!
When I finally decided to roll out of bed this is how I found him, covered in stickers. They were in his hair, and my favorite spot was on his lips covering his mouth... no wonder he was being so quite!

Mocktail Party

Brad & Gina's 3rd annual Mocktail Party...

The bar opened at 10:00, and that's when the party started!
Brad is a pretty impressive bar tender and has come up with some sweet drinks! Our favorites: Blackberry Mint Mojito & Avocado Daiquiri.

We had a good time playing games and dancing. Tiff was our entertainer for the night - and what a GREAT job she did!
Jeff, you're a lucky man! =)

Our last few minutes together in 2007!

Everyone waiting for the ball to drop!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Cheers!

The view of the City from their house... Beautiful!

We rang in the New Year with nothing better than a few good rounds of Mafia, taking us well into the morning.
It was a late for for us all!
Thanks so much Brad and Gina for a great party and all the fantastic drinks!
